"I am ambitious on where I believe we can go! We are doing well, but there is still work to be done to become more effective, more customer focused and more business driven. This HRBP role is newly created. The person we are taking on for this position will work closely with me to centrally drive our HR agenda in the BG. For a number of major themes that have been prioritised, this will mean that the new HRBP will take on the responsibility to centrally manage this throughout the BG's whole supply chain. Think of topics like organization development, capability building and HR transformation. Food FMCG is complex. Dairy, for a large part due to the nature of the product, even more so. Consequently, aligning HR and business effectiveness means that the HRBP needs to be able to be a sharp analytical thinker.
The role that I've created requires a person to really drive a number of strategic projects. Hence, there is a major project management challenge and the new colleague will need to manage this. Not only the "technical" aspects of project management like planning and conscientious organizing, but also the more interpersonal aspects like managing a large group of stakeholders and energizing them for our HR initiatives.
This new HRBP will operate on multiple levels in the organization. This can literally vary form working with a HR manager at a production site to aligning with corporate (international)) HR. This requires a high level of adaptiveness as well as the ability to shift gears between more conceptual and abstract strategy development, and down-to-earth execution. This is a strategic and pivotal role in the HR team of the BG's supply chain. Ideally, this person is the successor of the present HR Director. The role will have a 50/50 responsibility. The first half implies to work with- and advise the business. The second half of the job is that of strategic project and transformation manager. The HRBP reports hierarchically to the HR Director Supply Chain of the BG.
In this position, you are managing HR at three organizational levels: Central Supply chain of BG; for about 2.200 workers; rolling out and implementing HR/Change programs (1). Network: participating in the management team of the Butter and Milk network (4 plant locations) (2). Local: Partnering with the HR Managers of the 4 Butter and Milk plants (total about 360FTE) (3).
